Mugling Recycling Scheme
Mugling is the hometown to Maila Gurung, owner of GRG's and many of our staff. It is the main crossroads town between Chitwan, Kathmandu and Pokhara and as such, see's a lot of traffic go through it. Many people throw litter out of the windows of the buses and the litter problem has been increasingly bad in the last few years. We spent a week cleaning up the town, recycling what we could and teaching the locals how to dispose of rubbish properly. It was hard work, but after one week you could really see a difference in the town. Educating the locals about the problems littering can cause is so important and teaching them a way to affectively manage the rubbish is a great step in the right direction. It breaks our heart everytime we see rubbish in our rivers so this is a very important topic for us to be involved with.
