Mugling Schools Project

This is a small school in the village of Tandhara, a four hour walk from Mugling. In May 2015, Maila and a few of the GRG staff took the journey up to the village, they traveled for 2 hours by road then had to walk the remaining distance. Fortunatley only a few of the eight classrooms had been damaged although they also lost a lot of their resources. The majority of the students in this school are Cheppang and BK which are two of the lowest castes in Nepal, most of their families are subsistence farmers and the community has little money to spend on the school. We have provided them with financial assisstance to rebuild the damaged classrooms and donating new backpacks, uniforms, stationery and teaching resources for the school as well as helping them clean up the area to make sure it is a safe learning environment for the children. It was great to see these children getting back to school and the joy they get from education.
